Over Two Decades of Smart Energy Management

While the industry has only recently begun to understand the benefits of VPPs, DERs and microgrids, we have been successfully managing them for over 20 years.

Forging an innovative path in 2002, we started our journey by using freezers as batteries – a concept that came to inspire the name, Icetec. Since that time, we’ve continuously evolved and advanced our predictive analytics and optimization platform with a comprehensive tech stack for sophisticated DER management, with the integration of critical data, such as weather, markets, and grid conditions. As a result, our customers can now automatically ensure optimal energy efficiency and operational performance, without human intervention.

Today, more than 200 MWs are managed by our SaaS platform from over 40 customers, including blue-chip clients across pharma, Ivy League education, top C&I companies, and utilities.

Our technology enhances ROI for DER investors and asset owners by automatically stacking revenue opportunities and maximizing operational efficiency – without human intervention. Using our platform, customers have achieved impactful results, including:

  • 5-10% reduction in energy use
  • 15-20% increase in operational savings
  • Over 50% improvement in asset efficiency
  • Over $100K in added revenue

This is why 5, 10, 20 years later – our customers are still using our platform.

With unmatched experience and a proven record of success, Icetec is on a mission to help industries and organizations make smarter energy decisions.

Our Guiding Principles

Be Predictive

Using adaptive modeling of energy markets, power and thermal loads, and equipment profiling, Icetec’s predictive analytics help increase efficiency, economic and carbon performance, and optimize hedge positions, while decreasing market risk.

Be Productive

Our energy monitoring and control system provides real-time and forward-looking analytics to ensure automated decision making that strengthens efficiency, sustainability and economic performance. These benefits increase as more diverse assets are integrated, such as renewables and storage.

Be Self-Sustaining

Icetec delivers a fully integrated energy management platform that enables cost reduction, as well as thermal efficiency optimization and a smaller carbon footprint. An extensive, cluster-based data warehouse helps validate sustainable strategies and develop future improvements.

With over two decades of success behind us, Icetec proves that integrated energy management is the greatest hedge against market volatility.
